Gathering materials and essentials in Ark Survival Ascended becomes second nature over time, however, players must learn how to acquire the correct resources to survive, with Fiber arguably one of the most important.
How to Find Fiber in ARK Survival Ascended
Fiber is one of the most important resources in the entirety of Ark Survival Ascended to gather in the early stages of the game due to it being a vital ingredient of most crafting materials. The most basic way of obtaining fiber is running around tall grass and picking fiber with your hands, you must have nothing equipped in your hands.
Grass and other vegetation are the most regularly seen terrain locations upon spawning, therefore, it's relatively easy to locate and loot Fiber from the get-go.
It's recommended that you search small flora and press "E" to loot for fiber and berries within the flora, this is the easiest method of finding berries in Ark Survival Ascended.
Where to Find Fiber in ARK Survival Ascended
The best Fiber locations are all relative to your spawn location, thankfully, there are more than several locations that are Fiber-rich on Ark Survival Ascended:
- The Eastern Forest
- Redwood Forests
- The Western Approach
- The Southern Jungle
Despite these places being the best, finding general vegetation and sourcing Fiber shouldn't be too difficult. To speed up the gathering process, use a dinosaur or metal sickle to help speed things up, especially if you're moving from location to location and beginning to focus primarily on resource accumulation.
Fiber can be sourced using a metal sickle once reaching level 30 or a dinosaur you have tamed. This will include visiting areas with vegetation to locate and find plants with fiber inside them. The best dinosaurs for the job are:
- Gigantopithecus
- Dire Bar
- Moschops
Using a dinosaur will likely speed up the process of gathering fiber making the job far more enjoyable, especially compared to mindlessly walking around and sourcing.
