Studio Wildcard has announced that Bob's Tall Tales: Wasteland War will launch alongside the Extinction DLC on December 16, 2024. During the Extra Life Charity Stream (which you can watch here), the developers shared a host of exciting features coming to Wasteland War, which we’ll dive into below.

Armadoggo: The Ultimate Survival Companion

The goodest pup on the ARK, Armadoggo is touted as much more than a tame - it’s a loyal partner built for survival in the wasteland. In Companion Mode, Armadoggo ensures you’ll never lose it, burrowing underground to reach you faster or to heal when critically injured.

While it's not a combat powerhouse or a rideable mount, Armadoggo’s strength lies in its versatility, with numerous attachments that enhance its utility:

• Bag: Provides extra storage, freeing you up for essential supplies.
• Medkit: Automatically heals you when your health drops critically low.
• Spikes & Extra Armor: Improves defenses and deters attackers.
• Meatsack: Draws enemy aggro, keeping you safe in tight situations.
• Speed Buff: Offers a burst of mobility for quick escapes or repositioning.
• Oxygen Tank: Extends underwater exploration by sharing oxygen.
• Rolled Sleeping Bag: Acts as a portable resting point, complete with insulation and quick respawn.
• Food Basket & Ammo Box: Keeps essential rations and ammunition within reach.
• Spyglass: Enhances visibility for better exploration and combat awareness.
• Chibi Basket: This lets you level a second chibi alongside you.

Customizable Vehicles

Wasteland War introduces a fleet of fully customizable vehicles to help you dominate the Extinction ARK’s harsh environments. Each vehicle features a cab for a driver and a passenger who can fire out the window for extra firepower.

With a new special fuel powering these rugged rides, vehicles are perfect for transporting crew and cargo across dangerous landscapes.

Vehicle Types

• Buggy: A nimble, versatile vehicle for exploration and quick combat maneuvers. Its speed and adaptability make it a great all-around option.
• Monster Truck: A massive, durable machine built to crush obstacles and enemies. Ideal for storming enemy bases and surviving large-scale battles.
• Racer: A sleek, fast vehicle for hit-and-run tactics or zipping across the wasteland to gather intel.

Vehicles are crafted and stored in the Garage, a workbench structure that allows for repairs, customization, and protection against decay. You can outfit vehicles with numerous add-ons and turrets to suit your strategy:

• Buzz Saw: Slices through obstacles and enemies up close.
• Spiked Grill Hook: Traps and damages foes on impact.
• Afterburner: Provides a speed boost for quick escapes.
• Grappling Hook: Enhances mobility and offers strategic advantages in combat.

Turret Options

• Shotgun Turret: Excels at close-range crowd control.
• Seeker Missile Launcher: Delivers precise, long-range damage.
• Flamethrower Turret: Creates an area-denial wall of fire.
• Cannon Turret: A heavy hitter for destroying enemy defenses.
• Minigun Turret: Continuous firepower for suppressing foes.

Combine these options to turn your vehicle into a mobile fortress that’s uniquely suited to your needs.

Tribe Tower: Buff Your Tribe with the New Structure

The Tribe Tower is a monumental, unrepairable structure that boosts your tribe’s strength as long as it stands. The tower provides tribe-wide buffs that grow stronger with each real-life day it remains intact.

These include increased XP gains and reduced boss cooldowns. Every 30 days, the tower rewards additional Element from bosses, stacking up to five times. Beware, however, rival tribes can target your tower, and destroying it grants a trophy marking its lifespan and your tribe’s name. 

Wasteland Gear: Survival in Style

Equip yourself with rugged war outfits and fierce headgear crafted from salvaged metal, leather, and scraps. Designed for survivors who thrive in chaos, this gear is as functional as it is intimidating. Armed with explosive spears, you’ll be ready for anything Extinction throws your way.

Structures and Props: Build Your Wasteland Stronghold

Transform your base into a fortress with structures and props that embody the spirit of survival. Constructed from rusted metal, salvaged wood, and industrial scraps, these additions range from sturdy railings and spiked walls to makeshift storage and ominous table lamps. Each structure not only enhances functionality but also serves as a testament to your tribe’s resilience.
