Just in time for some sweeping changes in Apex Legends next week, the Gaiden Event has been announced by Respawn. Cosmetics are the meat and potatoes of the anime-inspired event, but there will be a few other additions to reel players into the game for the second half of July.
Though the event has an anime theme, that doesn't mean it's tied to any specific anime like Call of Duty and Fortnite have been pulling off. Instead, the Gaiden Event will bring in new themed styles or cosmetics for existing Legends. Those who participate in the entire event will also be rewarded, so make sure to read below and see how long the event will run.
Gaiden Event Apex Legends Schedule and Rewards
Apex Legends won't have to wait long for the Gaiden Event to begin as it starts on July 19, 2022. There will be about two weeks for everyone to participate, and as expected, both weeks will have some separate challenges. Week one will run from July 19 to July 26. The second week will run from July 26 to August 2 at which point the event will end.
Weekly challenges will be known as Gaiden Flash Events and some will be tied to the Armed and Dangerous mode. Both weeks will have three cosmetic rewards to earn for a total of six. Some of them are skins while others are Apex Packs or Event Packs.

- Mobile Apex Legends FPS Settings and Framerate Caps

In total, there are 40 different Gaiden Event cosmetics that are based on anime themes. Octane, for example, clearly has a skin that is based on Luffy from One Piece. Four Legends will be the main focus of the best skins and that includes Octane, Wattson, Mirage, and Revenant.
Each of those Legends will also have themed skins for designated weapons. Those four weapons include the Flatline, Wingman, EVA-8, and the Charge Rifle. As you play in the event, you'll unlock new packs and you can continue to add to your collection for all 40 cosmetics. If you pull that off, you'll be rewarded with the Prestige Bangalore skin.
Gaiden Event Armed and Dangerous mode returns
During the anime-inspired event, the limited-time Armed and Dangerous mode will make a return to Apex Legends. In this mode, players can only use snipers or shotguns, so the ranges will vary to an extreme degree. Loot is also more scarce, so you'll need to deal with barebones weapons for much of the match.
For this mode, three maps will be in rotation: World's Edge, Olympus, and Storm Point. Like the other challenges in the event, this mode will go away after everything ends on August 2.
