A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead will have microphone noise detection, allowing the game's terrifying creatures to hone in on every sound you make in real life. Sable Interactive and Stormind Games' upcoming title is coming out on 17 October, and the microphone detection will "amplify the terror of A Quiet Place like never before."
The clever new mechanic makes perfect sense for the game and franchise, which focus on evading monsters who respond to the noises made by your movement. "Experience absolute horror as you hide, distract, and sneak past the ultimate predatory creatures. But beware: even a single noise can give you away," developers warn.

Though the microphone detection will definitely enhance gameplay for those who choose to use it, it's worth noting that it's a totally optional feature - and you can still play the game without a microphone.
A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead is set to capture the terror that made the Quiet Place franchise famous. In the game, players will take on the role of Alex, an asthmatic college student who must struggle against horrifying creatures while finding a safe place to stay. She's accompanied by her boyfriend, Martin, as they attempt to survive the end of the world.
A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead will be available on Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. The game is available for pre-order today.
