It's been over 10 years since 7 Days To Die first emerged on PC, and since then the game has been in early access, even through a console launch back in 2016. As of July 24, 2024, 7 Days To Die has finally broken out into its full release with the 1.0 update, and a PS5/Xbox Series X|S version is on the fast-approaching horizon.

The 7 Days To Die: Console Edition is set to arrive on July 25, 2024, but eager fans are waiting for specifc times to be announced.

The 7 Days To Die: Console Edition, which is the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S version, is set to release on July 25, 2024. While the developers have yet to reveal a specific time, 7 Days To Die emerges from early access at around 1pm ET on July 24.

It's possible that the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S edition will release around the same time on July 25, though we'll be sure to update this article once information is made available. At the time of writing, neither the upcoming 7 Days To Die: Console Edition or the legacy edition for PS4/Xbox One, are listed on the respective storefronts.

Is 7 Days To Die Still Playable On PS4 & Xbox One?

If you previously purchased 7 Days To Die on PS4 or Xbox One during its initial console release cycle, you'll still be able to play it once 7 Days To Die: Console Edition has released. However, this old edition will be considered a legacy edition. As such, this old version will not be automatically updated to the new version, and players will need to purchase the 7 Days To Die: Console Edition to stay up to date.

In an FAQ post on the game's official website, the developers said, "We made the decision early on to focus on a ‘new’ version of the game that is unified with our PC version, and our efforts to update the game post-launch will be entirely focused on that version."

The studio also confirmed that the legacy edition will no longer be available to purchase and will be delisted from digital storefronts.
