Choosing where to build your base in 7 Days to Die is an important decision; you'll want to find an area that is not only structurally sound and will protect you from enemies, but also ideally has lots of space for farming and tons of resources to loot. With the addition of lots of new Tier 5 POIs in 7 Days to Die's v1.0 update, there are more options than ever for places to set up your home base on a POI. These are some of the best POIs to build your base in 7 Days to Die, as of the new v1.0 build.
The Best Base POIs in 7 Days to Die v1.0
1. Navezgane Athletics Complex
The Athletics Complex is one of the new POIs in 7 Days to Die's v1.0 update. This enormous new POI features a football field and several athletic buildings, as well as an outdoor area. You'll have plenty of room to set up your base here, and can even use the football field for farming. However, you may also use up more resources while setting up your defences.
Not only is the Athletics Complex a great choice for a base simply because of its enormous size - much of which is indoors and thus safer - it's also home to tons of ammo and artillery, as well as medical kits. When it comes to weaponry and medical supplies, you won't run out quickly here.
The Athletics Complex makes a great place to set up your base thanks to the abundance of resources available, but it's worth noting that this location is also home to tons of zombies - so you'll need to prepare to fend them off.
2. Pass n Gas Station #4
There are quite a few Pass 'n Gas stations scattered throughout the world, but Pass 'n Gas #4 is the best for setting up your base. While it's not nearly as large as other POIs like the Athletics Complex, this can actually come in handy early on, since you won't need to spend too much time setting up your defences. There's also a pretty vast underground bunker here, giving you some space to settle in and set your items up.
3. Fire Station 8
Like the Pass 'N Gas Stations, the Fire Stations are a pretty good place to set up shop in 7 Days to Die. They're made of concrete, meaning you won't need to heavily reinforce them, and there's plenty of space for you to put your items. Since Fire Station 8 is mostly indoors and has a roof, you'll both be largely safe from mobs and have space to set up an offensive if you need to.
While the Pass 'n Gas Stations are far from a new addition, they're a mainstay when considering what existing POIs on which to build a base.
4. Haven Hotel
Haven Hotel is a new Tier 5 POI from the v1.0 update and is an excellent choice for a base, both for new players and for more established ones. Because this POI is so huge, much like the athletics complex, you'll have plenty of room to put your items and plenty of access to high-tier resources.
While Haven Hotel has tons of resources and gives you plenty of space to shelter away from zombies, it isn't the best POI base if you're planning on setting up a farm or otherwise making heavy use of the outdoors. Some largely indoor maps, like the athletic complex, also have an outdoor part, but the Haven Hotel is almost all inside. Being a high tier POI, Haven Hotel will also come with some of the same obstacles as the athletics complex; while large and full of useful items, you'll have to prepare for a zombie onslaught.
