Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty features one of the most satisfying combat systems ever in an action RPG. Thankfully, the game provides many opportunities for you to put that impeccable combat to good use.
Like the Nioh Games, boss battles are the best way to test the full potential of combat in Wo Long. One of the bosses you will encounter halfway through the story is Sun Jian. If you are looking for some tips before taking this challenging boss, you're in the right place.
Here's how to beat Sun Jian in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty.
How To Beat Sun Jian Boss Fight In Wo Long Fallen Dynasty
Sun Jian is the eleventh main boss in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty. This is also one of the most ferocious encounters in the game, so buckle up.
Unlike some other bosses, Sun Jian doesn't deal many critical blows. As such, it becomes difficult to fill up their Upper Spirit Gauge and deal fatal strikes. However, Sun Jian takes a lot of regular damage, so you won't necessarily have to rely on fatal strikes to take them down.
Sun Jian has four primary attacks that you need to keep an eye out for. The first is a stomping attack, in which there's enough window for you to successfully dodge and deflect it. Then there's a sweeping attack, which they do twice with their tail. It has a long coverage area, so be careful. The third is a backflip-style uppercut attack which is cool to look at but deals a lot of damage, so make sure to deflect it. The fourth is a swirling attack across the arena.
The boss has one critical blow that could finish you altogether if you don't dodge or deflect it. In this, Sun Jian performs an upper-cut style attack from its tail and then lunges toward you. If you fail to deflect the first attack, you will have to sit through the lunge attack as well, both of which combined could kill you. Thankfully, the upper-cut style takes a while to get going and you can easily deflect it if you keep an eye out.
And that's pretty much what you need to know about this boss. Sun Quan and Sun Ce will keep Sun Jian busy for the most part. When they are distracted, perform AOE attacks to accumulate elemental damage. Anything would work, but fire Phase spells and abilities seem to deal the most damage.
Following these tips should make it easy to take down Sun Jian. That concludes our guide on how to beat Sun Jian in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty.
