Hideo Kojima, the visionary behind the award-winning action game Death Stranding, recently thrilled fans at the SXSW 2025 Special Panel yesterday after he announced that Death Stranding 2: On the Beach will launch exclusively on PlayStation 5 on 26th June 2025. The reveal was accompanied by a stunning 10-minute trailer showcasing Sam Porter Bridges' next journey.
The trailer was a mix of surreal storytelling and breathtaking visuals. Joined by stars Norman Reedus and Troy Baker, Kojima shared insights into the game’s development, heightening anticipation for what promises to be one of 2025’s biggest releases. The announcement also confirmed that pre-orders will begin on 17th March at 10 AM local.
The Standard Edition of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach will retail at $69.99, while the Digital Deluxe Edition ($79.99) and Collector’s Edition ($229.99), albeit more pricy, will provide exclusive perks. Notably, this includes early access starting 24th June 2025—a full 48-hours ahead of the game's official public launch!
The Digital Deluxe Edition will also come with bonus in-game items like Gold-tier Battle Skeletons and a Level 1 Machine Gun, further incentivizing fans to jump in early. Meanwhile, the Collector’s Edition caters to die-hard fans with a 15-inch Magellan Man statue, 3-inch Dollman figurine, art cards, and a letter from Kojima himself (plus all the digital bonuses).
Kojima also teased a global Stranding Harmony concert tour kicking off 8th November 2025 in Sydney to celebrate the series’ iconic soundtrack. Currently, pre-orders are only 1 week away, so make sure you claim your early access and exclusive goodies before it's too late. You'll definitely want to be among the first to explore the beautiful world of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach!
