Best M4 Loadout Warzone 2 Season 5

The M4 Assault Rifle is considered to be one of the most popular weapons in any Call of Duty title, and Warzone 2 is no exception. With many players choosing to mainline this weapon, you might be convinced to do the same, but before you take it into battle, you'll need to kit the weapon out with a few attachments and perks.

This can be difficult as you have tons of customization options for the M4 to choose from, and it can be easy to pick the wrong setup. So in this guide, we'll be walking you through the current meta for the best attachments and Perks that should be used for the ultimate M4 Assault Rifle loadout in Warzone 2. 

Update 10 August: The following loadout utilizes successful builds from previous seasons and updates. We'll update this page throughout Warzone 2 Season 5 to reflect the state of the game.

Best M4 Meta Loadout in Warzone 2 - Attachments 

Below, we've identified the following loadout as being particularly successful for the M4 in Warzone 2:

• Barrel - Hightower 20" Barrel
• Muzzle - Harbinger D20
• Underbarrel - FTAC Ripper 56
• Optic - SZ Vortex-90
• Magazine - 60-Round Mag

Because the M4 Assault Rifle excels in firepower and bullet spread accuracy, our attachments are going to focus on building on these strengths, as well as buffing the rifle's recoil control and stability. 

Starting with the Hightower 20" Barrel for an increase in bullet velocity, recoil control, and hip fire accuracy. Then we have the Harbinger D20 which gives us a boost in recoil smoothness as well as bullet velocity and damage range, while also silencing our shots.

Then we have the FTAC Ripper 56 which gives us a big boost in recoil stabilization and aiming idle stability. The SZ Vortex-90 is our preferred optic for this weapon, but feel free to choose the one you prefer, or ditch it for a laser if you want more ADS (aim down sights) speed, and finally, the 60-Round Mag gives you ample ammunition to avoid needless reloads.

Best M4 Meta Loadout in Warzone 2 - Perks & Equipment

For Warzone 2, the Perk system has been altered; players can now only select from specific perk packages that include predefined perks. Many players are dissatisfied with this design decision, but the Perk packages are still adequate for your needs if you choose the right one.

We chose the Specter package for the M4; all of the Perks that come with it, as well as the equipment we recommend, are listed below:

• Base Perk 1 - Ghost
• Base Perk 2 - Double Time
• Bonus Perk - Tracker
• Ultimate Perk - Spotter
• Lethal - Drill Charge
• Tactical Equipment - Heartbeat Sensor

You are constantly going to be pushing and playing more aggressively as an Assault Rifle user, and Ghost assists you in avoiding detection by enemy UAVs. The Tracker Perk makes it easier to ambush and stalk your enemies because it shows their footprints if they have recently passed by. When combined with Double Time, which increases the duration of the tactical sprint, you can become quite the agent of death as you hunt down players with your M4.

The Spotter Perk is also useful in this situation because it allows you to identify nearby enemy equipment, keeping you safe while pursuing an adversary. The Heartbeat Sensor is always a good choice because it can identify nearby players with a single ping, but keep in mind that it does deplete over time. 

Lastly, The Drill Charge works perfectly in tandem with the Heartbeat Sensor, allowing you to hit campers through walls and push into cramped buildings after scouting how many enemies are inside.
