Zoochosis, an upcoming zookeeper horror game featuring mysterious animal mutants, has gotten a 23 September 2024 release date in an exclusive IGN trailer. Throughout the game, players wear a body cam and view their environment through it, giving the title a unique "found footage" feel that developers hope will up the terror.
"As we started to develop the game, we wanted to offer something different from the other horror games out there, so looked for a way to really up the tension you will feel while going about your first night shift as a newly employed zookeeper," developers Clapperheads explained.
"We’re always on top of trends and decided that the use of bodycams would provide a whole new, spine-chilling perspective on the gameplay and enhance your experience while exploring the zoo under the cover of darkness."
The game by Clapperheads and Playworks will allow players to interact with mutant animals and care for them, figuring out the mystery and working to save them along the way. Zoochosis also says it'll have multiple endings depending on which characters players choose to spare.
According to the Zoochosis X/Twitter page, the game reached 300,000 wishlists as of late June. Developers also showed off the game at Summer Game Fest that same month, offering players a chance to check out the demo for the first time. The game was announced back in January thankfully, with Zoochosis' September release date quickly approaching, fans won't have to wait much longer to join those who tried out the demo and check out the game for themselves.
