Dead Cells developer Motion Twin opened "La Motion Week," a week-long celebration for the studio, in which fans can anticipate brand-new reveals, announcements, and updates. This included their action roguelite game Dead Cells, which is currently discounted for one week on Steam, and so too are all the DLCs, and the release date for the Dead Cells board game.
They've also provided an update on the Dead Cells animated project, that an English voiceover version will be premiering on 8th October 2024, with more details to follow in the coming days. Perhaps the biggest news from the developer is regarding their forthcoming roguelike action platformer game Windblown, that's heading to Steam Early Access on 24th October 2024.
The developer first announced the roguelike action platformer in December 2023 at The Game Awards, which then confirmed that an Early Access launch is planned for sometime in 2024. While Motion Twin continued development on Windblown, they've released further game updates, improvements, and optimizations for Dead Cells, alongside DLCs culminating in Update 35 in August 2024.
The path has been cleared for Motion Twin as the entire team has since pivoted on Windblown, which launches to Steam Early Access later this month. However, for those interested in jumping into Windblown's fast-paced action, a single-player experience will be unlocked during the upcoming Steam Next Fest celebration from 14th October 2024.
According to an official statement from the developer on 3rd October 2024, players will be able to experience Windblown in both single-player and co-op online multiplayer modes at its launch. The game's demo will be available between the 14th and 21st October 2024, with all progression "carrying over into the game" for its Early Access launch.
There will be a reward for players to claim at its Early Access launch if they've played through the Windblown single-player demo. They'll be able to earn the "exclusive Guinea Pig skin for their character" as a thank-you for their participation.
