Twitch streamer Jenwaa "proposed" to her boyfriend in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

In times where social distancing and avoiding unnecessary risks are key to contain the COVID-19 pandemic, Animal Crossing: New Horizons has become the perfect game for people looking to keep their minds occupied while keeping in touch with friends and family.

Coming up with creative ways, thousands of fans have moved their usual get-togethers into the virtual world, and while this isn't particularly the case for Twitch streamer Jenwaa, she managed to get a good laugh from a recurring joke on her stream.

During her most recent Animal Crossing: New Horizons broadcast, the UK streamer explained how someone had gifted her a ring, which she then used to stage a proposal to her boyfriend, Twitch streamer Enigma.

After building anticipation, Enigma finally saw the surprise his girlfriend had prepared for him, bursting out laughing while leaving the room, prompting Jenwaa to drop the stream ending graphic on cue.

This was all a joke, as she later explained, and reassured viewers that they shouldn't feel bad as the moment was played entirely for fun.

Despite the wholesome nature of Animal Crossing: New Horizons and the incredible success it represented for Nintendo, China has decided to ban the game.
