New Tormented Souls 2 Gameplay Trailer Features 25 Tense Moments Of Survival Horror

Tormented Souls 2 just got a 24-minute gameplay trailer from publisher PQube and developer Dual Effect, unveiling a "terrifying glimpse" at the returning world of Tormented Souls. It's all been completely re-imagined in Unreal Engine 5, with brand-new environments to explore and all animations now motion capture. The game is also substantially larger than its predecessor - in fact, it promises to be three times the size of the original Tormented Souls.

Tormented Souls 2, like the original, honours survival horror classics by using a fixed camera and equipping its protagonist with makeshift weapons. These are gameplay aspects that Silent Hill fans will remember well. It'll also feature puzzles, "gruesome psychological horror," combat, and more. With this title's improvements upon the original title, developers say it will "elevate the horror experience to unprecedented levels."

Tormented Souls II Developers describe the plot of Tormented Souls 2 like this: "Hero Caroline Walker embarks on a harrowing journey to save her sister from a mysterious affliction. Set 6 months after their original ordeal, this relentless experience takes you on a journey full of dark secrets and shocking twists."

The original Tormented Souls, which released in 2021 and described itself as a "terrifically terrifying love letter to Resident Evil, Silent Hill, and Alone in the Dark," has earned itself a 9/10 rating on Steam, leaving many fans excited for the upcoming sequel. The Tormented Souls series comes at a time that's a sort of revival of the survival horror genre, with the upcoming release of Bloober Team's highly-anticipated Silent Hill 2 remake.
