The Medium PC system requirements and file size revealed

At the Xbox Series X games showcase, we got to see some next-gen games in action. One of the titles which should be very exciting for horror fans is The Medium, a next-gen psychological horror featuring Silent Hill composer, Akira Yamaoka.

The game looks fantastic with its dual reality gameplay, which probably made a lot of gamers wonder what the PC system requirements are. Well, we've got you covered, and there's still quite a bit of time to upgrade before The Medium's release date window of "Holiday 2020".

The Medium PC system requirements and file size

First up, the file size for The Medium, as per the game's official Steam page, is only 30 GB. This is quite low compared to most other big games out there. Considering The Medium is a next-gen title, the file size might have been kept a bit smaller with compression techniques for next-gen console SSDs.

Thankfully, you won't require an SSD to run the game. While most gaming PCs built in the past few years should be able to run The Medium, the game does boast some serious "recommended" PC system requirements.

You will need one of the most powerful graphics cards in the world to run it at 4K with Ray Tracing on, which is to be expected. Check out The Medium's minimum and recommended PC system requirements below.

• CPU: Intel® Core™ i5-6600 / AMD Ryzen™ 5 2500X
• Memory: 8 GB RAM
• Graphics: @1080p NVIDIA GeForce® GTX 1060 6GB / AMD Radeon™ R9 390X (or equivalent with 4 GB VRAM)
• DirectX: Version 11

The Medium recommended PC system requirements:

• OS: Windows 10 (64bit version only)
• CPU: Intel® Core™ i5-9600 / AMD Ryzen™ 7 3700X
• Memory: 16 GB RAM
• Graphics: @1080p NVIDIA GeForce® GTX 1660 Ti / Radeon™ RX Vega 56 | @4K NVIDIA GeForce® RTX 2070 / Radeon™ RX 5700 XT

As you can see, the recommended PC system requirements for The Medium is well laid out by developer Blooper Team, taking both 1080p and 4K displays into consideration. 

There's one additional note by the developer in the PC system requirements, which explains you will need a GeForce RTX 2080 for 4K with ray tracing on.
