Though we haven't seen much information surrounding Nintendo's highly anticipated third-person shooter Splatoon 3 since it was first announced earlier this year, fans are now reeling with excitement to see their favorite Inklings and Octolings in September.

Following the recent Nintendo Direct for Splatoon 3, fans were introduced to an array of new features, stages, and special weapons to enjoy. In this guide, we'll be detailing Slatoon 3's release date, trailer, gameplay, features, and more. So without any delay, let's dive right in.

Splatoon 3 - Release Date and Platforms

Splatoon 3 is set to release on 9th September 2022 and is currently available to pre-order. Accordingly, the game will be available exclusively on the Nintendo Switch for now. So for those on PlayStation or Xbox consoles, you'll need to pick up one of Nintendo's hybrid consoles to join in on the inky fun. 

Splatoon 3 was officially announced in February 2022, with its initial release trailer giving us the first look at what to expect. More recently, the Splatoon 3 Direct Showcase revealed further information regarding the game, including many features that the game will be implementing and what we can expect once the game releases. Splatoon 3 - Gameplay And Features

Splatoon 3's core gameplay involves two teams of players negotiating a map and engaging in third-person shooter mechanics to ensure that their color of paint is the one most represented on the map. The game's mechanics are more complicated than meets the eye, though, as winning requires a lot of strategizing, teamwork, and communication and relies on various skills and weapons.

Splatoon 3 adds a brand-new region to battle over while keeping most of the gameplay elements that have made the series popular. In addition, 4v4 Turf Wars, a fan favorite game mode, is back along with new stages, moves, and weapons.

Fans can also take on a full single-player story mode with co-op and cool new bosses. Once more, players can further customize their avatars by choosing from a wide variety of hair and clothing options.

Nintendo UK also unveiled a brand-new multiplayer stage on 4th July 2022. Players can add color to the "Mincemeat Metalworks" map, a desolate wasteland of rust and grayness, as they engage in combat.

Splatoon 3 releases on 9th September 2022 exclusively for Nintendo Switch.
