With the blue hedgehog set to turn 31 this year, Sega is giving us a gift to celebrate the occasion, and we are excited, to say the least. Fans will be receiving Sonic Origins, the newly remastered collection of four classic sonic games.

Sonic Origins – Release date and trailer
Sega has announced that the game will be released on 23rd June 2022, exactly 31 years from the day of the original Sonic The Hedgehog game release in 1991, celebrating the hedgehog's 31st birthday.
Sonic Origins will feature four of the classic Sonic titles, namely Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic CD, and Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles. All of the games are set to release on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, the Epic Games Store, and Steam.
The game will also be released in different variants that will give players a wide range of different perks when starting their journey in the Green Hill Zone. Such as bonus coins to start with, harder missions and additional music tracks from other sonic titles.

Sonic Origins – Gameplay features
Sonic Origins will feature the classic Sonic gameplay we all know and love. The side-scrolling adventure of collecting rings and taking down enemies and bosses returns in all its glory as you can play with either Sonic, Tails or Knuckles, and with brand new graphical fidelity, but it doesn't stop there.
The game also features revamped versions of the classic that you can play in anniversary mode that offers infinite lives so you can keep the fun going no matter what. And a brand new Mirror-mode, that lets you play the level backwards to give yourself a unique challenge.

Lastly, the game also offers new additional content that gives this game some insane replayability. From Bosh rush modes to the missions and challenges that you need to complete within a time limit and so much more.
The game also has a brand new story mode feature that ties together the story from each of the four titles into one coherent narrative. By adding brand new animated cutscenes that transition between the gameplay, players can essentially play through all four games at once to experience the entire story, and possibly some new elements to the sonic lore we haven't seen before.
