Slime Rancher 2 just got its most comprehensive content update yet, Into the Labryinth (v.0.6.0), which introduces the new Grey Labyrinth area. Inside, players will find new sights to see, puzzles, and explore a new gameplay mechanic called Prisma Disruptions. Along the way, players can also collect three new types of slimes and meet a new character who unveils the mysteries of the mysterious land.
The Grey Labyrinth is so huge that it doubles the game's map size, adding tons of new areas to explore. You'll be able to make your way through "ancient slime ruins," survive pools of molten lava, and explore vast architecture.
"Players should exercise caution while traversing the depths of the maze," developers warn. They'll need to watch out for strange events called Prisma Disruptions, which impact the environment and may even injure the player.
The game's new slimes include the Shadow Slime, Sloomber Slime, and Twin Slime. The Twin Slime boasts a unique ability: it can create portals, allowing you to move objects from one area to another effortlessly. The Sloomber Slime, on the other hand, is excessively sleepy - just as its name implies - making it easier to catch.
New slimes aren't the only new characters players will meet; you'll also get to talk to Gigi, the character who summoned you here to Rainbow Island. Talking to them in the Labyrinth will let you learn the island's secrets, and finally begin to figure out why you're here as you discover the mysteries behind the area.
But that's not all. Players will be able to take advantage of six new Vac upgrades, along with 18 new variants of gadgets. This will make exploring the Labryinth a lot easier, and allow you to meet the interesting characters and slimes inside without meeting your end.
Slime Rancher 2 is available on Early Access on Xbox Series X/S, Windows PC, and PlayStation 5 for $29.99.
