While the music gaming boom with Guitar Hero and Rock Band feels like a by-gone era, developer Harmonix are hoping to capture the magic once again with new title Fuser.
Described as the “next evolution of interactive music gaming”, Fuser sees players control music by combining elements from different songs to create custom mixes.
Unlike Rock Band, no peripheral is required to play Fuser. Your custom mixes, blending together vocals, bass lines, and other instrumentation, can also be shared on social platforms.
Harmonix CEO, Steve Janiak, says:“With Fuser, we are delivering the ultimate music fantasy as a game.
“Music today is an experience. It’s not just people listening to albums any more – it's recording and sharing videos of you singing along to your favourite songs, watching your favourite bands play at festivals, and sharing hit music with your friends.
“Fuser puts players at the center of all that by letting you mix and share some of the biggest hits on your way to becoming a festival headliner.”
Over 100 tracks are promised in the final game, with songs from Billie Eilish, Lizzo, and Fatboy Slim. You can check out tracks announced so far below.
