Woodland Games' and Team 17's upcoming game Autopsy Simulator has been delayed due to an "internal development-related issue," the team said. During the extra month before the game's release, the title's team will work on fine-tuning gameplay in order to release the best possible version of the game.
In Autopsy Simulator, will players take on the role of a forensic doctor battling inner demons in the 1990s. As the main character performs autopsies, you'll check out realistic case files and perform dissection and exams of your own. Autospy Simulator's new release date is 6 June 2024.
"We appreciate this news is not what our community wants to hear," developers wrote in their announcement surrounding the delay. "This was a tough decision to make, but it was made with the quality of our final product in mind."
Woodland Games further explained the reason behind the month-long delay, stating: "Our aim with Autopsy Simulator has always been to blend two contrasting genres, creating an authentic autopsy experience with twisted psychological horror moments. This shift in release date allows us to meet these aims and add the necessary final tweaks that we are very excited to deliver to you all."
While it's definitely unfortunate for fans to hear about the delays, it's great to hear that we do have a release date and that the game will be coming out quite soon.
