With any Ratchet and Clank game, there are going to be secret weapons that players who just run through the main story won’t find. The hidden weapons are meant to be discovered by those willing to take part in the game’s side quests and optional collectable missions.
Rift Apart is no different, as Insomniac Games have provided a plethora of optional quests for players to do. However, perhaps the most fruitful quest is acquiring the RYNO weapon. This is easily the best gun in the game and makes dealing with enemies a simple task.
However, players won’t immediately know how to acquire the weapon. Fortunately, we’re here to walk you through adding the RYNO to your inventory in Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart.
Acquiring the RYNO in Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart
In order to acquire the RYNO, you need to collect all 10 Spybots in the game. These are little orange bots that can be interacted with when players approach them. Each one of these bots provides a blueprint to the RYNO. Once all 10 are collected, you can speak to the game’s weapon vendor, Ms. Zurkon, to buy the RYNO and add it to your arsenal.

Of course, finding the Spybots is an entirely different story. They’re spread out amongst all of the planets in Rift Apart and finding them isn’t too simple. While they will get marked on your map, this only occurs once you get close enough to them.
You can begin hunting down Spybots once you’ve reached the game’s second planet and gotten access to your spaceship. After you hop in your ship and look at the planet select map, you can hover over each planet to see how many Spybots populate that particular level.
If you’ve managed to collect all 10 bots, then you can purchase the RYNO and begin wreaking havoc in Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart. Unfortunately, this means you’re near the end of the game, as the last Spybot can’t be hunted down until then. However, players who want to take part in the New Game+ mode after beating the game once will keep the RYNO for that playthrough.
The RYNO deals a ton of damage over large areas and only requires a couple of hits to take down most enemies. It creates a purple dimensional rift in the sky and reigns down onto enemies in its path. It also creates an explosion that is sure to finish off any surviving enemy.
