After the success of Placid Plastic Duck Simulator, Turbolento Games and Fantastico Studio have yet another game in store from the Plastic Placid Duck franchise: Plastic Plastic Deck - A Quiet Quest. This title features the ducks from the popular original game, but features a deck-building experience rather than an interactive simulator.
Here's how the game's developers describe Plastic Placid Deck:
"Placid Plastic Deck is a wholesome game where you can’t die. It offers a relaxing and witty adventure with colorful pixel-art locations, peculiar characters, quirky dialogues, elements of deck-building card battles, and, of course, lots of ducks. Embark on a tale of friendship and revenge!
The new game promises a blend of 2D and 3D graphics with various new locations to explore, special cards to collect, and boards to challenge. It's true to its name with lots of ducks - and even features new characters, brought to life with vibrant pixel art. The game even has a storyline, differentiating it from the original. (which has no dialogue aside from quacks!):
"Explore a magical realism world filled with good and not-so-good, ordinarily weird characters—and ducks. Join Zoi, a determined 15-year-old girl, on a quest to make it up to her best friend. To succeed, she must assemble the ultimate deck (of ducks), outsmart all challengers, explore faraway lands, and win the town's card tournament."
The game's trailer features some pretty adorable pixel-art graphics that both mimic the charm of the original yet have their own distinct style, showing off both gameplay and some of the game's adorable characters. You can check it out for yourself just below:
Turbolento Games has also announced another upcoming Plastic Placid Duck game called Slowly Sliding Ducks; it looks to be an upgraded version of Plastic Placid Duck Sim, with more multiplayer capabilities like leaderboards and spectating.
Both Placid Plastic Deck: A Quiet Quest and Slowly Sliding Ducks are available to wishlist on Steam, though there's no tentative release date for either quite yet.
