Perfect Dark reboot officially announced for Xbox Series X/S

A reboot for Perfect Dark has been officially announced for Xbox Series X/S at The Game Awards 2020.

The new entry in the Perfect Dark franchise will come from Microsoft studio The Initiative, a new company formed in 2018 comprised of team members who previously worked on Tomb Raider, God of War and Uncharted. 

This marks the first new Perfect Dark game since Perfect Dark Zero on Xbox 360 back in 2005. The first Perfect Dark released on Nintendo 64 way back in 2000.

The trailer itself shows very little of the title, although it’s likely a long way off from any release. 

The original Perfect Dark was a first-person shooter developed by Rare, which was created as a spiritual successor to the classic Goldeneye 007.
