Sequels to Oxenfree and OlliOlli have been announced during Nintendo’s Indie World showcase.
The former is titled Oxenfree 2: Lost Signals and takes place five years after the original, which is a supernatural narrative-driven adventure game. The sequel is slated to be released in 2021.
An official synopsis reads: “Five years after the events of Oxenfree, Riley returns to her hometown of Camena to investigate mysterious radio signals. What she finds is more than she bargained for.”
There were plenty of other highlights too, including a follow-up to skateboarding platformer OlliOlli titled OlliOlli World, which adopts a fantastical aesthetic and sees the hero on a quest to find “mystical skate gods”. It’s scheduled to be released in winter 2021.
We got a double dose of Annapurna Interactive, known for publishing games like Florence and What Remains of Edith Finch, with new games Hindsight and Last Stop. Both of these are set to be released this year.
There’s also Road 96 which opened the broadcast, which is a narrative-driven game with procedurally generated elements. This will also release on Switch later this year.
An indie sale was also announced for the Nintendo eShop, which will start later today (14th April).
