Co-op underwater horror Murky Divers by developer Embers and publisher Oro Interactive is fully releasing on Steam on 12 December, with the game finally leaving early access. The 1.0 release will let players dive into fun new features including new creatures, a new biome, and more. For now, there's also a little Christmas event going on, with Christmas cosmetics for players to grab and keep.

Murky Divers lets you team up with up to 7 other friends - or dive down alone - as you head to the bottom of the ocean and attempt to remove the corpses there. The corpses are from an abandoned lab with a mysterious history called Pharma Corps, so while you're down there, you'll also be seeking to remove any evidence of their mishaps - all while avoiding terrifying underwater enemies.

Much like in other extraction horror titles like Lethal Company and Content Warning, players can earn credits after successfully completing missions. You can spend these credits on items and upgrades, including improvements to both your suit and toolkit.

“With over 350,000 players worldwide, we’re incredibly grateful for the support from our growing community,” reads the press release from Embers. “Since launching in early access, Murky Divers has evolved thanks to player feedback and enthusiasm. We’re excited to keep working on Murky Divers, and we can’t wait to share more updates as we continue to shape the game into something truly special.”

Prior to its release, Murky Divers has already amassed over 2,300 reviews. It also boasts Overwhelmingly Positive recent reviews on Steam, with Very Positive overall reviews. The game's ratings have likely improved over time as developers have used Early Access as an opportunity to fix bugs and implement new features.

“We feel that Early Access is the best way for us to engage with players and bring the game to its full potential," they wrote in Steam's 'Why Early Access?' section. "We have a development roadmap leading up to the game’s release, but we’re eager to adapt it and focus on what our community loves most about our game.”
