Mountaintop Studios hinted at a full reveal of their upcoming FPS game on 1 August on X/Twitter. The reveal will include a "deep dive" into the title, gameplay from creators and hands-on impressions, as well as an upcoming major playtest.
The studio's post included a short trailer, showcasing fast-paced Valorant-style FPS gameplay over fast electronic beats. It makes sense that Mountaintop's upcoming title bears some similarities to Valorant and other popular shooters, given that the studio is made up of "Respawn, Epic, Riot, [and] Bungie" veterans.
While Mountaintop's upcoming title's gameplay looks a bit like some existing games, the shooter's trailer boasts a unique art style that differentiates it a bit from competitors, seeming to draw inspiration from comics and cartoons.
Canadian streamer Shroud backed the project on X/Twitter, noting that he has "been working on the game for a long time" and is excited to show fans.
Mountaintop's FPS title has an active playtest ongoing from 27 July 'til July 31. All playtests thus far - including this one - have been entirely confidential, with developers sharing minimal information about the game outside of those playtests. It seems that'll all change soon, with the big reveal coming 1 August.
