From Camouflaj and Oculus Studios comes a brand new entry into the Batman: Arkham franchise. Batman: Arkham Shadow is set to launch exclusively on the Meta Quest 3 later this year in partnership with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC.
The upcoming game is set to feature a new story in the Batman: Arkham franchise, and will return players to Gotham to save the city from a new threat that stalks the streets.
The official reveal will be broadcast as part of the upcoming Summer Games Fest on June 7 at 2:00 pm PT, where fans will be treated to more details. The game was announced in a new blog post from Meta.
The Batman: Arkham series began back in 2009 with the release of Batman: Arkham Asylum, followed by Batman: Arkham City in 2011. The games immediately resignated with fans, and have since spawned two additional mainline entries, a spin-off, and numerous other media.
Batman: Arkham Shadow won't be the franchises' first foray into VR, with Batman: Arkham VR having launched in 2016. The game followed Batman from a first-person perspective as he investigates the disappearance of his allies Nightwing and Robin. The game initially launched on PSVR and later on HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, and Valve Index.
Batman: Arkham Shadows is currently slated for a release in late 2024.
