Lost Records: Bloom & Rage just got a trailer along with an official release date, and it's in two parts: Tape 1 comes out on 18 February 2025, while Tape 2 will follow a month later on 18 March 2025. DON'TNOD made the announcement during Gamescom 2024.
The trailer is fans' first look at gameplay - just as its title suggests - and focuses on showing off just that. In it, players can see how they'll get to use their camcorder - similar to Max Caulfield's camera in the original Life is Strange - to film events around them, and how they'll get to make decisions by interacting with friends.

"The First Look Gameplay trailer offers a look into the gameplay of Lost Records: Bloom & Rage, including the navigation between the dual timelines of 1995 and 2022, using Swann’s camcorder to film her summer, and of course, making dialogue choices in the game," the game's developers explain: "We see the dynamic dialogue system, which promises another level of immersion: it can change based on where you look and what you say, and players can choose to ignore and interrupt other characters, which makes conversations feel more real and choices more important than ever."
In Lost Records: Bloom & Rage, players can switch between two different timelines using their power, explore environments, and make decisions that impact characters - just like in DON'TNOD's iconic Life is Strange series. The core decision-making mechanic isn't the only way this new title "nods" to Life is Strange; both focus on teenage girl protagonists, and focus on characters' bonds. They also offer a similar visual style, suggesting that this new title may draw in fans of the developers' fellow franchise. We even see a little reference to Life is Strange in the trailer, with a mention of the "Vortex Club."
Lost Records will be available on PC, Xbox Series/S, and PS5 digitally, with a special PS5 physical version. Provided there aren't any delays, fans will only need to wait a few more months to check out this exciting new title from the developers behind the Life is Strange franchise. However, those interested in the physical PS5 release will need to wait just a bit longer, as there's no official release date for that version quite yet.
