Lightyear Frontier Gets March Release Date On Xbox & PC

If you've ever looked at a mech-heavy game, with all its action and high-level combat, and thought "Y'know, I'd like to use these mechs for a more noble purpose. Maybe farming?" — then Lightyear Frontier could scratch that itch. 

With a new spin on the farming simulation genre, players will be using their very own mech to craft items, harvest resources, and build a successful farm. You won't be fighting explosive battles in Lightyear Frontier, rather using your abilities to reinvigorate the land and create a sustainable farm on this strange alien world. 

Today, developers Frame Break, part of Amplifier Studios, have announced that Lightyear Frontier will be heading to both Xbox and PC later this year.

Lightyear Frontier Xbox & PC Early Access Release Date

Lightyear Frontier is set to release in early access on March 19, 2024 across both Xbox Series X|S and PC. The game will also be available as part of Xbox Game Pass. 

Ahead of its March launch, players will be able to check out a demo from today on both platforms. Lightyear Frontier will also be a part of Steam Next Fest from February 5 - 12, 2024. Pre-orders for Lightyear Frontier will also be available on Xbox from February 1, 2024. 

Lightyear Frontier Xbox & PC Full Release Date

So far, only an early access release date has been revealed for Lightyear Frontier, across both Xbox and PC. However, in an FAQs section on the game's Steam page, the developers gave fans an idea of when they can expect to see a full release:

"Our current plan is to spend about a year and a half in Early Access, but we also embrace the fact that plans can and will change the moment we start getting feedback. Our primary goal is to keep the updates coming at a steady pace and reach full release once we feel the game is ready.”

Of course, game development is a tricky business, so schedules are always subject to change. But, for now, it seems players can look forward to a full release towards the latter end of 2025.
