Kingdom Hearts: Missing Link was first announced alongside Kingdom Hearts 4, but like Kingdom Hearts 4 we haven't heard from the game since the initial announcement. Now, however, Square Enix have finally broken their silence on the game, announcing an upcoming closed beta test and giving us a vague release date.
According to Square Enix, the game is currently scheduled for release in 2024, and fans can submit an application to the beta test on the official Kingdom Hearts website. Square has stated that any saved data from the beta test won't carry over to the final release, but also that fans will be able to use PS4, PS5 and Xbox controllers for the game during the beta test.
The game is described as a 'GPS-based action RPG for iOS and Android', with the teaser trailer showing off a combination of familiar locales from across the Kingdom Hearts franchise but also seemingly teases new locations, with several people on Twitter thinking that they've noticed Hawaii from Lilo & Stitch. This would be the second time that Lilo & Stitch has featured as a world in a Kingdom Hearts game, with Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep having a level set in the space station which Stitch escapes from at the start of the movie.
