The open-world environments contain unique biomes, challenging surfaces to navigate on and around, and secrets awaiting discovery. However, along their adventures, they'll need access to valuable items and resources to advance their progression, as some are well within the world, and a Metal Detector can be used to find them.

This unique gadget, once activated, can scan nearby surroundings, and the results may be fruitful from resources, items, and upgrades. Scan the environments and uncover important items to aid with progression by following this guide on how to get and use the Metal Detector in Expeditions: A Mudrunner Game

Where To Get And Use The Metal Detector In Expeditions: A Mudrunner Game?

The uncharted and unpredictable environments can challenge their vehicles by overcoming multiple obstacles, for which they must prepare their vehicles before deploying for a mission. Few surprises await players in the open-world environment; however, they're not visible to the eye, so they'll need to rely on some equipment to detect their locations.

The Metal Detector is the gadget in mind that players can acquire to help them seek out valuable resources that can't be found through traditional means. Equipping the Metal detector can only be achieved from the Expedition Setup before deploying for a research mission once they've selected a vehicle that can support the Metal Detector.

The DON 71 and DON 71 SE are a few vehicles that can support this roof customization, especially if specific expeditions call for it as a requirement. Once they've acquired the Metal Detector and are deployed for an expedition, the next part is how to use it in-game.

They can bring up the Devices wheel by pressing the corresponding key or button and scrolling through the option until the Metal Detector is highlighted. After selecting it, the Metal Detector will be activated, and players will begin scanning the radius to detect "useful resources in close proximity."

Different colored signals signify various types of resources in the open-world environment, with white signals indicating that objects can be found within a 200-meter radius. If the signals are blue, it means valuable items are nearby, while green means upgrades and red signals are for resources that can be found and collected.
