The year is 2020 and what better way to acquire an adrenaline rush then by tuning into EVO Japan 2020.
Taking place from 24-26th January, EVO Japan viewers were treated to a mix of intoxicating and gut-wrenching matches. If you didn't get chance to view any, we'd highly recommend taking the time out to watch.

EVO Japan 2020 also attracted its fair share of headlines; one being how the winner’s prize for Smash Ultimate was dropped when presented.
There were also originally 2,988 total registrants for Smash Ultimate yet only 1,169 participated according to Dot Esports. That's over 1,000 registrants who didn’t show up to EVO Japan 2020.
Tekken 7 saw seven of the top eight main Leroy. Is Leroy that good of a character and how will that change the diversity of future tournaments? As a competitive player myself that could get boring.
Street Fighter V only one player from North America made it to top eight. Is there really a huge gap in skill level between North America and Japan? Also there was no Mortal Kombat at all, not even as one of the side tournaments.
Congratulations to all the winners at EVO Japan 2020. We'll have to see how many attend EVO 2020 in Las Vegas, Nevada, from July 31st 2020.
