V Rising: Willfred the Werewolf Chief Location

Willfred the Werewolf Chief is a fearsome boss that can be found in an equally fearsome area in V Rising. To locate him, travel to the northernmost part of Dunley Farmlands. Just before the entrance to the Cursed Forest, you will find Gloomgrave Village, where Willfred the Werewolf Chief is located.

It's worth noting that this boss is a mere human village chief by day but a powerful werewolf by night. For repeat visits or attempts at Willfred the Werewolf Chief, it is advised to continue into the Cursed Forest to unlock the Waypoint so that you may teleport in instead of traversing the entire map whenever you wish to try.

V Rising: How To Beat Willfred The Werewolf Chief

There are many ways to beat Willfred the Werewolf Chief in V Rising, but we will review the best methods to ensure your success. Firstly, go to the village just before night falls; this will allow you to kill all the other villagers while they are still human, as at night, they too will transform into werewolves. Then, once you have mitigated interference by these villagers, you can continue to kill Willfred the Werewolf Chief in V Rising.

He will change as soon as nightfall comes, so be ready to attack him right after the transformation. Any damage you attempt to do to him during the day will heal on transformation, and killing him before transforming doesn't count either.

The best strategy to beat this boss is using at least one of these barriers: Ward of the Dammed or Chaos Barrier. You should use these whenever Willfred goes into a frenzy of attacks; otherwise, dodge his attacks and save your barrier for the charge afterward. Chaos Volley is recommended as your offensive spell because of its high magic damage and DPS. We also suggest using a Reaper build for this fight.

Any level of the Reaper is recommended as your primary weapon, as it allows you to throw out a spinning attack at range, dealing substantial damage. The final and most crucial step to beating Willfred the Werewolf Chief in V Rising, is stopping him from healing in Phase 2 of the boss fight. When this phase begins, villagers will spawn and run around the fight. Accordingly, Willfred occasionally chases them down to feast on them, healing himself. When this happens, kill the villagers as fast as possible by any means necessary and try to bring Willfred down quickly.

V Rising: Willfred The Werewolf Chief Rewards

Upon defeating Willfred the Werewolf Chief, you will unlock a new blood ultimate ability called Heart Strike and the recipe for Holy Resistance Flask. In addition, there is a chance that the Werewolf boss will also drop Gold Jewelry and an Unsullied Heart. Heart Strike is a great offensive ultimate ability for dealing damage and healing simultaneously during an intense fight. It can also function as a mobility move, allowing you to dash forward a decent distance at great speed.

On the other hand, the Holy Resistance Flask recipe is an absolute must-have if you want to take on the late-game bosses, as the buff you gain from it can make endgame boss fights either incredibly easy or your worst nightmare. It also lasts incredibly long, giving you ample time to make multiple visits to the Holy Radiation areas in V Rising and farm high-value loot.
