Wednesday Netflix Series Plot
Much like the original series, Wednesday is a dramedy. However, this time around, viewers will be following the life of the titular character, Wednesday, and the escapades she gets up to at home and at school.
Wednesday was approximately six years old in the original Addams Family series and 10-11 years old in the film adaptation. Here, Wednesday is a teenager, and you can likely already imagine how such a snarky character has evolved into adolescence.
Wednesday was very much a vessel for landing jokes in a lot of her scenes, and while she played this role well, the novelty soon wore off. This Netflix show is an opportunity to dive deeper into the character and provide fans with a genuinely tantalizing experience befitting of such a beloved character.
Wednesday Netflix Series Cast
Aside from Jenny "Wednesday" Ortega herself, playing the role of Wednesday's parents are Catherine Zeta-Jones and Luis Guzmán as Morticia and Gomez Addams.
The show will also feature Gwendoline Christie, the popular Game of Thrones actress known for playing Brienne of Tarth, as the principal of Nevermore Academy.
Isaac Ordonez will play Pugsley Addams (Wednesday's brother), Victor Dorobantu is Thing, and George Burcea plays Lurch, the family servant.
There are a ton more famous names that are likely to pop up as we tread closer to the release date, so stay tuned for any more Hollywood royalty looking to take part in the project.
Wednesday Netflix Director - Tim Burton
Fans will be pleased to see the legendary Tim Burton lending his expertise in yet another creepy project. Helena Bonham Carter has yet to be cast for the show, but knowing Burton, she'll likely make some kind of cameo at one time or another!
Regardless, if Burton manages to capture even half the magically creepiness found in some of his other works (The Nightmare Before Christmas, Edward Scissorhands, and Corpse Bride, to name a few), Wednesday will become yet another notch above his metaphorical bedpost.
