The Finals is a team-based FPS title that tasks players with scouring the map for cash, returning it to a designated "cashout" point, all while defending yourselves from other teams of hungry competitors. Helmed by Nexon subsidiary, Embark Studios, The Finals has been steadily building up its playerbase since its launch in December 2023.
But in order for matches to remain exciting, and the game to remain fresh, an active and consistent playerbase is essential. So is The Finals worth sinking your time into? Or are things starting to dwindle? Here's what the game's player count is looking like in May 2024.
The Finals Player Count (May 2024)
According the SteamDB, a site that tracks the active player count for each game on Steam, The Finals reached a peak of 21,199 players in the last 30 days. It's a fair bit less than what the game achieved around its launch, however. Back in December, The Finals reached an all-time peak of 242,619 players.
The Finals had a slight comeback in March, with the launch of Season 2 taking the peak player count for that month up to 48,519. Players have voiced their opinions over the game's mechanics, which it seems Embark Studios are listening to. However, Nexon revealed in their Q1 report for 2024 that The Finals had performed "lower-than-expected." With some more tweaks and updates in the pipeline, we could see The Finals build up its playerbase as time goes on.
