Showcasing his best performance since Genesis 7, Zain Naghmi won Pound Online’s Super Smash Bros. Melee event with surprising ease despite big-name competition.
Zain’s Marth first faced Juan “Hungrybox” Debiedma’s Jigglypuff in the winner’s final, showing dominance from the outset as he took two consecutive sets from Hungrybox on Dreamland.
Following a 3-0 victory in the winner’s final, Hungrybox came back after defeating Zachary “SFAT” Cordoni in the loser’s bracket, with stage set for revenge in the grand finals.
Zain’s dominance however continued, with the player not dropping one set to Hungrybox. After going down 2-0, Hungrybox even jokingly flashed an “RIP” message to himself on the character select screen.
Zain scores the total prize pool sum of $5,000 for the tournament win, along with his second major victory after Genesis 7 earlier this year.
