Super Smash Bros. Melee icon Armada will be joining the likes of renowned Swedish Counter-Strike veteran Emil "HeatoN" Christensen and the 'Fifth Race' Warcraft legend Jang "Moon" Jae Ho after earning almost 70% of votes in the 2019 Esports Hall of Fame Community Awards.
Following a breakout performance at GENESIS: Melee in 2009 where he did not lose a set on his path to the Grand Finals, Armada won GENESIS 2 in 2011 to claim his first American tournament win over Joseph "Mango" Marquez who had beaten him in the original GENESIS event.
One of the Five Gods, Armada is still considered to be one of the most skilled and highest ranked Melee players in the world. Armada famously held a five-year winning streak against one of the other Gods Jason "Mew2King" Zimmerman in Melee singles from 2009 until SKTAR 3 in mid-2014.
He was signed by Alliance as their first ever Smash Bros. player a few months after that event and has remained with the organisation throughout his career.
Armada's use of Peach displayed a previously unthought-of skill ceiling and competitive viability while also being a Fox player with more overall success than domestic rival William "Leffen" Hjelte.
While Armada retired from Melee singles as of September 18, 2018, he has continued to play Doubles tournaments in 2019 and has also been competing in Smash Ultimate with Inkling as his main.
The official induction for Armada into the Esports Hall of Fame will be done at Dota 2 event ESL One: Hamburg 2019 taking place on the 25-27th October weekend.
