The Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics will not go without esports, at least not without Rocket League and Street Fighter that is.
The Intel World Open has been announced and confirmed for the following months and with the stage set for anybody to step up, there are basic rules, requirements and baselines for the community to follow.
Needing to be at least 16 years of age to register and open for both PC and PS4, the competition will be ruthless as the funnel of professionals and casuals alike narrows down for 11 Regional Grand Finals.

Street Fighter V Intel World Open dates
The Street Fighter V Intel World Open will be held from June 1st to July 21st 2021. Here’s a breakdown of the four phases the tournament will go through:
- Registration (May 15-31)
- Open Qualifiers (June 1 – 13)
- Closed Qualifiers (June 29 – July 4)
- Regional Finals (July 16 – 21)
Street Fighter V Intel World Open format
The Street Fighter V Intel World Open will be held across the following formats and under the following rules:
- The tournament is a single-player competition.
- The open qualifiers will run in a double-elimination format, all matches will be played in Best of 3 (BO3) mode.
- The closed qualifiers will run in a double-elimination format, all matches will be played in Best of 5 (BO5) mode.

The Street Fighter V Intel World Open will have the top players from each region meet in 11 Regional Finals to play for national bragging rights and their share of the $250,000 prize pool, yet to be distributed accordingly.
