With the release of Stray on PC and PS4/PS5, gamers can finally take on the role of a stray cat, separated from its family on a quest to untangle an ancient mystery in a "long-forgotten" cybercity. While the game's file size is as small as a medium-sized hairball, the developers have added some patch notes for Stray's Day 1 (or prelaunch) updates.
If you want to know what's inside the Stray patch 01.01 and 01.02 updates, then we've got you covered with all the bug fixes and improvements in the "pawtch" notes.
Stray Day 1 update patch notes - All fixes and changes
First up, it is important to note that this is for the PS4 and PS5 versions of the game. However, there is no reason to believe these fixes and improvements won't be in the PC version at launch as well.
- Stray PC Specs - Minimum, Recommended And File Size
- Stray Trophy List - All Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze Trophies
- Stray is a game where you play as a cat in a strange city full of robots
- The Lord of the Rings Gollum - Release Date, Platforms, Gameplay, PC Specs
With the disclaimer out of the day, let's jump straight into the patch notes for Stray's launch, featuring version 01.01 and 01.02 improvements and fixes.
Stray 01.01 update patch notes:
- Improved navigation in various places.
- Made some game scripts more robust when reloading checkpoints.
- Improved audio during cinematics.
- Polished audio sounds and general mix in throughout.
- Small graphical tweaks and fixes.
- Improved localization in several languages A LOT of collision fixes, naughty cat!
Stray 01.02 update patch notes:
- Localization has been improved in several languages.
- Supplemental vibration has been added throughout the game.
- Some Meows have been totally re-meowed.
- Stability has been improved during a few critical moments.
- Performance has been improved in a few demanding places.
We simply love the developer's wording of the "pawtch notes" for Stray, and we wonder how much time the re-meowed Meows took...
Stray Day 1 update download size
The Stray 01.01 download size is 5.8 GB, and the 01.02 update is 6.1 GB. However, these updates are pre-launch, and with no preload option available, you might not even see an update after downloading the game on 19th July 2022.
Instead, we believe the Stray Day 1 update is already baked into the initial download. The file sizes noted above are for the PS5 version, with the PS4 version being a little less than double in size.
