It was undoubtedly a "purrfect"  International Cat Day for feline owners and lovers globally, taking over social media for around 24 hours. Perhaps what made the day just "purr joy" was an update from publisher Annapurna Interactive confirming the official release date for their action-adventure game, Stray.

The game was revealed to pounce onto Nintendo Switch consoles during the Nintendo Direct presentation in June 2024, but no further updates were provided. That changed on International Cat Day (8th August 2024), as the publisher announced that the beloved feline protagonist would bring all the mischievous adventures to Switch consoles on 19th November 2024.

Fans eager to replay the feline protagonist's adventures were awaiting a potential Nintendo Switch port, which was officially announced at the Nintendo Direct presentation. As many players waited for a release date to be announced, the game's publisher sent social media abuzz on International Cat Day, confirming the game's release date of 19th November 2024, in time for the Holiday season.

While the Nintendo eShop has yet to add the game's listing to the storefront, the game's visual quality will likely be optimized for the Switch's current resolution specs. Eager players have the option to explore the cyberpunk environments either in handheld mode, which runs at 720p, or when docked (TV mode) at 1080p, regardless of whether the console is linked up to high-resolution TVs, but it remains unclear if Stray will run at 30FPS or 60 FPS at launch.

The action-adventure game was first released for PlayStation consoles and PC in July 2022 before it leaped onto Xbox consoles in August 2023. Since its release, it has garnered mostly positive reviews for its exceptional art design, narrative, level design, and, of course, its abundance of cat-like gameplay, which resulted in numerous awards.
