Star Wars Outlaws boasts a plethora of unique gameplay features that interact with an open-world environment or deepen immersion during quests and other unique content. The minigames have provided a level of engaging experiences for players, whether it's Lockpicking vaults, Slicing terminals, cheating their way through a game of Sabacc, and more.

The Galactic Street Food Challenge minigame changes the pace for Kay Vess and her adorable companion, Nix, by enjoying delicious meals at various street food vendors across the Outer Rim. This piping-hot guide unpacks the Galactic Street Food Challenge minigame by briefly explaining its gameplay mechanics, locating the vendors, rewards, and more for Star Wars Outlaws.

What Is The Galactic Street Food Challenge Minigame In Star Wars Outlaws? Explained

Star Wars Outlaws features a handful of unique in-game experiences that Kay can be involved in or enjoy with Nix. The game's minigames provide a great escape from that Scoundrel life for Kay and Nix and can be rewarding when participating in or completing these minigames.

This is especially valid for a specific minigame, the Galactic Street Food Challenge, which allows Kay and Nix to enjoy the simple pleasures of the Outer Rim through food. This minigame lets Kay and Nix enjoy a tasty regional meal together by interacting with a street vendor on any of the planets, which involves some unique gameplay mechanics.

Currently, in Star Wars Outlaws, there are four street vendors, one on each planet's major city, which Kay will spend time discovering, and once found, she'll quip, "Something smells good," indicating that she's near a street vendor. The street food vendors to locate and the dishes to order are as follows:

  • Toshara:
    • Location: At Mirogana Market, Mirogana City, Toshara
    • Dish: Che Mosskà – equipping this Nix Treat allows Nix to swiftly kick grenades away from Kay.
  • Kijimi:
    • Location: Between Kijimi Spaceport and Kijimiko Square, Kijimi City, Kijimi
    • Dish: Duradan Soup – equipping this Nix Treat allows Nix to distract multiple enemies simultaneously but within a smaller radius
  • Akiva:
    • Location: Near the Fast Travel Point in Satrap's Promenade, Myrra, Akiva
    • Dish: Kurado Fruit Platter – equipping this Nix Treat allows Nix to distract enemies for a prolonged period of time.
  • Tatooine:
    • Location: At the Bazaar in the lower quarters of Mos Eisley, Tatooine
    • Dish: Sketto Chuga – equipping this Nix Treat allows Nix's attacks to inflict an effect that causes them to "wreck havoc" and shoot wildly.

After finding a street vendor, Kay can sit down at the seat and pay 200 Credits where a cutscene plays to start the Galactic Street Food Challenge minigame, and they can press the corresponding buttons or keys that appear on-screen for the Quick Time Events (QTEs). Surprisingly, players won't get penalized for a missing or incorrect button or key input during this minigame; but unfortunately, it will slightly increase the time it takes to complete.

It's important to mention that this is a limited in-game experience, as players can only participate in this minigame once for every street vendor available to claim its rewards. Each Nix Treat received upon completing every Galactic Street Food Challenge provides a unique buff for Nix when equipped to the little critter within the Loadout menu under the Equipment tab.

As briefly detailed in our guide on the Data Spiking or Lockpicking minigame in Star Wars Outlaws, the Galactic Street Food Challenge can be disabled in the game's Settings. It can be done by accessing the Pause Menu and scrolling through to find the Settings option and locate the Gameplay subcategory.

With the available gameplay settings to turn on or off, they'll find the Galactic Street Food Challenge, and here, they can toggle the minigame off. Additionally, they can toggle the minigame's difficulty by leaving it to its default setting or switch to a simplified difficulty, which requires fewer inputs to complete the Quick Time Events (QTEs).

Enjoying a meal with Nix at all four street food vendors discovered across the Outer Rim will unlock an in-game Achievement, Galactic Gourmet. This Achievement, which awards players with a Silver Trophy, requires them to have sampled all the street food delicacies in-game, making Nix extremely happy to have a tasty meal with Kay.
