Much like a Flashlight and a Torch, Flares in Sons of the Forest can light up in dark areas once used; however, only for a limited time. This tool makes exploring caves and during the nighttime more efficient, especially if you encounter enemies. As a result, it's natural that players might wonder: How to find Flares in Sons of the Forest.
Fortunately, the answer is relatively straightforward, as you can use the various caves and other geographical points as references before searching nearby areas. But enough waffling. Here's everything to know about how you can find Flares and what they can be used for in Sons of the Forest.
Where To Find Flares In Sons Of The Forest: Location
There are five known locations where you can find Flares in Sons of the Forest, with the first being nearby the cave entrance on the beachfront on the island's northern side. From this location, swim towards the raft while avoiding sharks and climb into the raft to find a few Flares on the floor. The second location is east of the previous site, where you’ll find an abandoned camp and can look around for a red case to collect your next set of Flares in Sons of the Forest.
The third location is on the island's western side, and you’ll find the bunker entrance to the underground hotel. Look around the cave entrance to find the next case containing more Flares for you to add to your inventory. Afterward, head south from this location, where you’ll find another cave entrance.
You can get the Rope Gun here, but instead of running inside, keep searching the area to find the next case filled with Flares. The final location will test your fortitude as you’ll need to head out to the snowy mountains, specifically, the cave entrance at the island's center. Make your way around the cave entrance, and you’ll find two cases to pick the last remaining Flares in Sons of the Forest.
How To Use Flares In Sons Of The Forest
Flares can effectively ward off enemies afraid of light, so there is a positive side to using them in Sons of the Forest.
