Sons of the Forest lets players craft various structures from tents and shelters, fires, weapons, and traps; their blueprints can be accessed through the Guide Book. This makes survival much easier to endure for yourself and your companions, especially as it prevents you from certain death.
Starvation is one of the many ways you can encounter death, as this can be avoided by consuming food, which at times, resources can get low. How to build a drying rack can ensure that your meals last longer and are also on hand, as we explain in this guide for Sons of the Forest.
Where To Make & Use The Drying Rack In Sons Of The Forest?
Food is a significant part of your gameplay experience as the game allows you to explore, forage, and hunt food to provide sustenance. However, there will come a time when food will become scarce and resources somewhat limited, which means you’ll need to stretch your food for as long as possible.
This means you’ll need to find alternate options to produce and store food, and the drying rack can help with this endeavor. Getting a drying rack allows you to dry a variety of items, including herbs, fruits, fish, and meats to mention.
Therefore, you will need to craft a drying rack which the blueprints can be found within your Guide Book as we’ve detailed how to get it in our Emergency Pack guide. Bring out your Guide Book and switch modes before locating the Storage tab and clicking the Storage button.
You’ll need to continue clicking the Storage button until you find the page with the drying rack blueprint. The drying rack requires 13 sticks to build one drying rack, and if you don’t have enough sticks, you can always send Kelvin on an expedition to collect them.
With enough sticks in your inventory, revisit the Guide Book and locate the drying rack blueprint and click on them before finding a good spot that’s leveled to build it. All that’s left is to add your sticks to the blueprint, and you have crafted a drying rack.
Using the drying rack is just as easy as crafting one; you’ll need to interact with the drying rack by pressing the corresponding key or button. This brings out your backpack, and you can select the food item you wish to dry and hang them on the drying rack, and you can collect them once they’re ready.
If you wish to dismantle the drying rack, ensure you have the Structure Damage setting enabled. Head to the Settings menu from the Home Screen, click on the Gameplay tab, find the Structure Damage setting below Gameplay, destroy the drying rack, and build it in a new location.
