Accidents can happen in the world of esports, but rarely do we see something as strange and unique as what happened during Smash Con Fall Fest, as Moist Esports' Kolawole "Kola" Aideyan dropped his controller in the toilet moments before facing Enrique "Maister" Hernández in winners semis.
Reaching Top 8 of Smash Con wasn't an easy feat, with a stacked bracket that included some of the world's best players despite notable absentees such as Leonardo "MkLeo" López and Gavin "Tweek" Dempsey.
Kola managed to overcome veterans like Matt "Elegant" Fitzpatrick and Jestise "MVD" Negron on his way to winners semis. After an exhausting bracket, the Roy and Cloud player decided to take a quick bathroom break that ended up in tragedy.
According to multiple people who were with Kola, including fellow pro Peanut, the Moist Esports sponsored player dropped his GameCube controller in the toilet.

i go to wash my hands and i here a plop from his stall and my guy goes "nnnnnooooOOOOOOO"
my man dropped his controller in the toilet bro💀💀💀
As a result, the Smash Con Fall Fest schedule had to be slightly stalled, much to the confusion of casters Rod and Max Ketchum.
Eventually, Kola jumped on stage for his match against Maister, one that ended up going to game 5, with the Mexican Game & Watch main coming out on top.
Sadly for Kola, it seems that the spare controller wasn't cutting it, as he would lose to fellow Moist rep Paris "Light" Ramirez after dropping to the losers bracket, ending his run at 5th place.
The 19-year-old who rose to prominence during the online era, winning tournaments like The Quarantine series, has continued to prove he's got the chops to compete offline as well, recently winning InfinityCon as well as continuously making big waves at supermajors, and we're sure that momentum won't stop soon.
