After a couple of years suspended amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Genesis, the most iconic Smash Bros competition is finally returning to celebrate its 8th edition.
Last time around, early in 2020 right before the pandemic lockdown stopped all offline Smash competitions, Tyler "Marss" Martin and Zain Naghmi won Genesis 7, taking home the Ultimate and Melee trophies respectively.
As Omicron made COVID cases spike once more in North America, the Genesis organisers had to postpone the event from its usual January slot to April, losing tens of thousands of dollars in the process.
Regardless, the premier Smash event is about to kick off once again, so if you don't want to miss out on anything, let's break down everything you need to know about Genesis 8.
Genesis 8 - Schedule
Genesis will take place starting on 15th April, lasting until the 17th. It will feature competitions focusing on Smash Bros Ultimate and Melee primarily.
There will also be side-events focusing on other FGC titles like Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, Guilty Gear Strive, and Rivals of Aether.
