Resident Evil fans with Apple devices are getting an early Christmas gift this year, as Resident Evil 2 is live today for iOS devices including M-Model Macs and some iPhones and iPads. The game's release lines up with Capcom's previously announced 10 December release date, contrary to previous reports that the game would have a 31 December release date based on its App Store page.
If you're looking to fun Resident Evil 2 on a Mac device, you'll need an M-Model - meaning you'll need an M1 chip or better, and you'll need at least macOS Ventura. The game is also available on iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 16, and iPhone 16 Pro, as well as any iPad that runs iPadOS 17.0 and has either an M-series or A17 Pro chip.
Players can try out a bit of Resident Evil 2 for free to decide if they like it, but the full experience comes at a cost. The full game is $9.99, and Capcom also offers a $1.99 in-app purchase that unlocks all the in-game rewards. To celebrate the game's release, all Resident Evil titles on the App Store are also currently on sale.
