The Root is the corruption that has plagued the various worlds in Remnant 2, turning its peaceful dwellers into vicious creatures. Whether you go to the lush forests of Yaesha, the Cthulu-inspired N'Erud, or the Lovecraftian Losmon, you will notice that the corruptions of Root have spread far and wide in every corner of these worlds.
Some elite enemies in the game can inflict Root Rot on you. It's a debuff that puts infected status on you and can cause your character to start coughing between encounters, leaving you wide open to enemy attacks. Thankfully, there are several ways to cure that. Our guide here explains how to cure Root Rot in Remnant 2.
How to Prevent Root Rot in Remnant 2
You can cure or prevent Root Rot by using an Oilskin Balm. It's a consumable that you can buy from the Town Doctor, Dr. Norah, in Ward 13. It only costs 100 Scraps, so it's best to stock up on them every time you visit Ward 13. The Oilskin Balm also increases Blight Resistance by 25 for 10 minutes, so it's a win-win situation.
The best way to cure Root Rot is by equipping the Rotward Ring. It will prevent Root Rot blight. You can buy it from any of the Consumable Vendors for 500 Scraps. If you're in Yaesha, look for Bedel of the Vaunn.
If you don't want to spend your Scraps, you can also get the Rotward Ring randomly by opening one of the chests in the game though it could take a while.
