Pokémon GO Mudkip Community Day - Schedule, research, more

April is shaping up to be an interesting month in Pokémon GO, with Niantic detailing plans for upcoming events in the AR mobile title.

One of the most exciting ones is the Community Day Classic announced featuring Mudkip, one of the three starters featured in Generation 3. The third-gen was particularly loved as the Hoenn region was seen as a breath of fresh compared to Kanto and Johto. 

Mudkip, the water-type starter, is still one of the fans' all-time favourite Pokémon, a testament to how iconic it's become since it shared the spotlight with Treecko and Torchic. 

Niantic has taken the opportunity to give fans the chance to earn a special Mudkip once again as the Season of Alola continues. Here's all the information you need ahead of the Mudkip Community Day in Pokémon GO.

Pokémon GO April 2022 Community Day - Schedule

The Mudkip Community Day in Pokémon GO will take place on 10th April, starting at 2:00 pm and ending at 5:00 pm, all local time. 

During the mentioned timeframe, Mudkip will appear in the wild more frequently with an increased chance of it being a shiny version.

What makes things really interesting is that if you manage to reach the third Mudkip evolution, Swampert, during the event or up to two hours later, you'll be able to get the Pokémon to learn the Charged Attack Hydro Cannon.

These are the move's stats:

• Trainer Battles: 80 power
• Gyms and raids: 90 power

How to evolve Mudkip in Pokémon GO

Evolving Mudkip to Swampert is definitely a grind, but if you prepare yourself for the Community Day and stock up on key items such as PokéBalls and Lure Modules, you may be able to get your hands on enough Catch Candy. 

• To evolve Mudkip into Marshtomp you need 25 Candy.
• To evolve Marshtomp into Swampert you need 100 Candy.

Taking into account you earn a total of three Candy per catch and one more after transferring Pokémon, you'll need to capture around 32 Mudkip during the Community Day.

Definitely doable, but it won't be easy if you're not properly equipped.

April 2022 Mudkip Community Day - Bonuses

• 3x Catch XP
• Incense activated during the event will last for three hours.
• Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours.
• Special snapshots during Community Day Classic
