New Pokémon Snap will officially release on 30th April for Nintendo Switch.
The release date was confirmed in a new trailer, with the title a sequel to the beloved Nintendo 64 game released back in 1999.
Developed by Bandai Namco, New Pokémon Snap takes place in the Lental region and will see players able to photograph over 200 Pokémon.
The new trailer shows the likes of Lapras, Meganium, Scorbunny, Dodrio, Pikachu and Grookey in the wild, with some pretty impressive visuals in comparison to Sword and Shield.
The original Pokémon Snap was an on-rails shooter of sorts where you have to photograph Pokémon out in the wild, with this expanding on the same mechanics.
In New Pokémon Snap, you control a budding Pokémon photographer and work with Professor Mirror and his assistant, Rita. They’ll be the ones evaluating your photos of Pokémon in the wild, with scores dependent on the subjects’ poses, how large they appear, how directly they’re facing you, and where they fall in the frame.
This coincides with Pokémon’s 25th anniversary celebrations and the announcement that singer Katy Perry will be providing songs to help mark the occasion. You read that right.
