This week the Pokémon GO World Championship is set to go live, and that means plenty of rewards for Trainers everywhere along the way. Niantic has announced some Time Research codes tied to the event to encourage viewership and participation in battles.
Last week, Niantic confirmed that a set of Time Research would go live in celebration of the Championship, but this set is entirely different than the codes. Getting these Timed Research codes is fast and easy as long as you have a few minutes to tune into the World Championship stream.
Pokémon GO World Championship - Timed Research Code
To get the Pokémon GO Championship Timed Research for yourself, you'll have to tune into one of the event streams over the next few days.
There will be three main streams as the World Championship progresses, and each one will go live on Twitch. Based on the distribution of the codes, you may not even need an account.
- Can Venipede Be Shiny In Pokémon GO Bug Out Event?
- Pokémon GO Summer Cup - Best Picks, Rules, And More
- Pokémon GO Bug Out! Catch Challenge - All Timed Research
During the live streams, codes will periodically be displayed on stream or sent in the chat. These likely won't be a first-come-first-serve set of codes, so as long as you pay attention to the chat or the stream, you should be able to save the code. However, they will expire, so speed is key. Below you will find the dates and times of each stream.
- Thursday, August 18, 2022, at 7:30 a.m. UTC
- Friday, August 19, 2022, at 7:45 a.m. UTC
- Saturday, August 20, 2022, at 7:45 a.m. UTC
To claim a code in Pokémon GO, you'll have to head to the official redemption site. There is no in-game code redemption offer. When you get to the redemption site, the next step is to sign in with your account info. You can enter the code from there, and it will automatically transfer the research to your account in-game.
Despite claiming the research, you'll still need to complete the tasks in time before the event ends. The main goal of the Timed Research is to give Trainers a solid set of three Pokémon for the GO Battle Great League. There are three different paths you can take that offer three entirely different Pokémon.
All three team options have some fantastic picks for the Pokémon GO Battle League. Along with the Elite TMs from the normal research, and the chance to get exclusive moves, this is one of the best events for all PvP players.
