PlayStation To Launch Astro Bot Limited Edition PS5 DualSense Controller

Developer Team Asobi made a new "Astro Bot-related" announcement in collaboration with PlayStation to let players take charge of their next "supersized adventure." To help this little bot in his upcoming platform game launch later this year, the developer announced a themed limited edition PlayStation 5 DualSense controller, which pre-orders will become available in August 2024.

The Astro Bot Limited Edition PS5 DualSense controller will launch on the same day as the bot's upcoming Astro Bot game on 6th September 2024 for PlayStation 5 consoles globally. The developer provided information about the controller's development and design process in a new PlayStation Blog post alongside an official reveal trailer.

When in hand, players can feel the surfaces and terrains that "Astro runs and slides on," from grass to water, for which textures have been increased for Astro Bot. Next, we doubled down on the adaptive triggers combined with haptic feedback by tying them tightly to Astro's new powers.

For example, when using Barkster, the bulldog Jetpack, you can feel the thruster ratting against your finger in synch with the animation, giving a very dynamic and immersive feeling. Every new power-up has been given that same special treatment, so you will be able to experience various expressions through your fingers.

Additionally, they'll experience new types of impacts when encountering enemies and bosses in-game, from stretching to smashing through tough surfaces. Lastly, Astro's Dual Speeder takes advantage of the controller's motion control, adaptive triggers, and haptic feedback" when Astro uses this gadget as they travel to multiple planets throughout their adventures.

The Astro Bot Limited Edition PS5 DualSense controller will be available for pre-order on 9th August 2024 at 7 am PT / 10 am ET and 10 am local time in other countries, including Austria, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, and the United Kingdom at selected retailers and from direct.playstation.com. The controller is confirmed to be priced at $79.99/ €79.99 / £69.99 / ¥11,980, for which "limited quantities" will be available as it launches alongside Astro Bot on 6th September 2024.
